LITTLE BEAN

As a co-founder for Little Bean (the first and only Cantonese children's theatre company in the UK) Jess has had the pleasure of performing in the UK and across Hong Kong in libraries, community centres, SEN schools, fields, arts centres, and once even in a tube station. Her creation of Boh Boh the alien has allowed her to connect with people all over the world. 

 

As an Associate Artist she is a part of the core creative team of the company responsible for devising, writing, performing, puppet making and workshop facilitating.

What do you do when an alien lands in your front yard? Help him get back home!

Boh Boh Finds Home is an interactive adventure that allows families to travel through the galaxy together, stopping at different planets to help our friend Boh Boh the alien find home. We sing and dance through space, expanding Cantonese vocabulary, working on motor skills and most of all having fun!

Suitable for children aged 2-7 years old and accompanying adults.

​《波波星球歷險記》講述外星人「波波」迷失地球，透過劇中主角和小朋友的協助，到宇宙不同星球探險及找家的故事。「波波」和小朋友在星際間歷奇，透過原創音樂歌曲及親子互動元素，在輕鬆愉快的旅程中學習中文詞彙，樂趣無限。節目適合2-7歲小朋友及成人一齊參與 。

Boh Boh's New Friends 
波波星球歷險記 之 做個好朋友

Boh Boh’s unique qualities make him stand out in a crowd. But, will he be able to make new friends on a strange planet where everything looks quite the same? 

 

Join our friend Boh Boh the alien on a holiday to an undiscovered planet and meet a crabby king who is stuck in his ways. Help Boh Boh teach the king how wonderful it is to be different. With original songs, our second interactive adventure explores themes of acceptance and friendship, and helps improve Chinese vocabulary through sensory play. 

Suitable for children aged 3-6 years old and accompanying adults.

​外星人波波與眾不同，在茫茫星際間他能找到新朋友嗎？繼去年劇團首次登台，今年小豆釘再一次參與當代華人藝術節，策畫融合原創音樂，多元感官元素的親子互動劇場。波波和小朋友在太空踏上歷奇之旅，在輕鬆愉快的旅程中學習中文詞彙及多元共融。節目適合3-6歲小朋友及成人一齊參與

The Story of Nin

Do you know the tale of the Year Monster? I've heard they're big and fearsome... but not all monsters are as scary as they seem.

A commission by spot on Lancashire, The Story of Nin reimagines of the tale of the Year Monster from Chinese mythology. This bilingual shadow puppetry video has nearly 3000 views online. 

Sound Scribbles

All sound is music. 

The World of Sound Scribbles was supported by Little Angel Theatre as part of CAN Festival 2021. A digital mini-show set to original music from Little Bean's Sound Scribble call out, where we asked for public submissions of children "making noise" which were then used in the compositions. This video shows my contribution to the final compilation that was posted on the Little Angel YouTube channel.
